The Future Is Weird AF (Trilogy) is part of the Re:humanism 4 Timeline Shift program, the fourth edition of the Re:humanism Art Prize, inaugurated last June 18, which reflects on the transformations of contemporary imagination in light of emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence.
Structured in three parts, the experimental film offers a visionary narrative set in a post-post-post-truth world, where artificial intelligence generates voices, identities, and alternative realities.
Guiding the viewer is the synthetic voice of British documentarian Adam Curtis, known for his essay films on the history of power, media, and social manipulation, here recreated using voice-cloning software.
Resurrected dead celebrities, billionaires escaping underground, virtual influencers, emotional advertising, and relationships with bots populate the film’s dystopian and hyperreal scenario.
Composed entirely of archival footage, the work moves between cultural critique, memetic aesthetics, and satirical takes on the present, offering a chaotic and unsettling portrait of the generative AI era.
